SHORT & LONG TERM RENTALS www.BigBucksStorage.com 3000 ARTHUR ST W Call 683-7867 amilton rockers Monster Truck aren’t reinventing the wheel when it comes to their new album, Sittin’ Heavy. “We wanted to stick to a lot of what was working about (2013’s) Furiosity, and expand on it a little bit, without going so far that it sounded like we were changing our style,” says guitarist Jeremy Widerman. “We really thought like we nailed a lot of what works for us as a band with Furiosity.” Thunder Bay fans will have a chance to hear the new mate- rial live when the band takes to the Outpost stage on March 5. Widerman says the band has spent a lot of time making sure the live versions of the new songs are up to snuff, and they’ve come up with a set list that incorporates both old and new. “(We’ll be) playing the majority of the new album, and at the same time, giving people all the songs they’ve already come to know from our band,” he says. The Sittin’ Heavy tour kicked off on February 17 in Brooklyn, and includes shows across Canada throughout March. The band is then slated to head overseas at the end of the month to play large markets like Berlin, Paris, London, and Munich, and then come back to North America for gigs throughout the United States. Then Monster Truck will head back overseas for the Download Festival, which happens in June in Leicestershire, England. It’ll be the second time Monster Truck has played the Download Festival—in 2013, they per- formed on the second stage. This year, however, they’re on the main stage (called the Lemmy Stage) alongside the likes of Korn, Black Sabbath, Deftones, Megadeth, and Iron Maiden.
